Native Chicagoan Paige Summers demonstrated a natural gift for drawing and painting at an early age. Encouraged by her family, Summers began taking formal drawing classes at the American Academy of Art at the age of nine. By age sixteen Summers was displaying her works within the art fair circuit and, somehow, managed to sell every piece she brought from her studio. At age twenty-four, after completing her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Summers packed up her art supplies and moved to New York City. She loved the rhythm and visual diversity of Manhattan, and soon found herself doing promotional sketches for fashion industry icons, Yves Saint Laurent, Chanel, and Paloma Picasso. In 1991, Summers relocated to Atlanta, a move that afforded her the opportunity for an even greater amount of commissioned portrait work. In addition to portraits and fashion illustrations, the Summers Studio expanded its services to include murals, faux finishing, interior design consulting, and decorative arts. Her clients have have ranged from corporate CEOs to soap actresses to NFL stars. The Summers Studio is currently based in Florida. |
